Got questions, lovers? I've got you.
Planning a wedding comes with plenty of questions, so I've answered some of the most common ones below.
If you're still wondering about something, just reach out — I’m always happy to help.
-
When should we book our Celebrant?
The sooner, the better! Many celebrants book out 12–18 months in advance, especially during Adelaide's peak wedding season (September–April). If you've found someone you love, don't wait too long to lock them in.
Once you've enquired, we'll catch up for a chat, and if we're the perfect fit, a booking fee secures your date.
You'll also need to complete your Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month (and no more than 18 months) before your wedding — but don't worry, I'll guide you through all of that.
-
How much does a Celebrant cost?
Like most wedding vendors, celebrant pricing varies depending on the experience, inclusions and level of support they offer.
While it's tempting to compare on price alone, your ceremony is the moment that sets the tone for your entire day. My advice? Invest in someone you genuinely connect with, who understands your vision and gives you complete confidence that your ceremony will feel authentic, memorable and completely you.
-
What does a Celebrant do besides rocking up on the wedding day?
A lot more than just show up with a microphone!
Behind every ceremony is hours of planning, writing, meetings, legal paperwork and getting to know you as a couple. I spend around 20 hours crafting each ceremony, making sure every detail feels authentic, personal and uniquely you.
From our first chat to the rehearsal and your walk down the aisle, I'm there to guide you through the process, calm the nerves, cheer you on and deliver a ceremony that brings the heart, the hype and the happy tears.
-
We're not really into tradition. Is that okay?
More than okay! It's my favourite kind of ceremony. Whether you want to throw out traditions altogether, keep a few meaningful ones or create something completely your own, I'm here for it. Aside from the legal wording, your ceremony can be as relaxed, heartfelt, fun or unconventional as you want it to be. The goal is simple: create a ceremony that feels like you.
-
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely! You can write your own vows, stick with something more traditional, or do a mix of both. If you're not sure where to start, I'll provide plenty of guidance, prompts and examples to help you write something that feels genuine (without the cringe!).
-
Do we need to have a rehearsal?
Not necessarily. Some couples love the reassurance of an in-person rehearsal, while others are happy with a run-through meeting. I'll recommend what suits your ceremony and make sure everyone knows where they need to be on the day.
-
How long does a wedding ceremony usually take?
Most ceremonies run for around 20–30 minutes, depending on what you'd like to include. Together we'll create a ceremony that feels relaxed, engaging and never like it's dragging on.
-
Can we include our children, pets or family in the ceremony?
Yes! Whether it's your kids, your dog, grandparents or a special friend, I love helping couples create ceremonies that reflect the people who matter most. We'll chat about ways to include them naturally and meaningfully.
-
Can we personalise our ceremony?
Absolutely! In fact, I'd encourage it. Your ceremony should reflect your story, personalities and relationship—not a template. Aside from the required legal wording, almost everything can be tailored to you.
-
What happens if it rains or something doesn't go to plan?
Weddings are wonderfully unpredictable, and that's okay! I'll keep things calm, adapt where needed and help everything flow smoothly, so you can stay present and enjoy the moment.
-
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! Whether you're getting married in Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa or beyond, I'd love to be part of your day. If travel is required, I'll chat through any additional costs upfront.
-
How do we know if you're the right celebrant for us?
The best way is to meet! We can have a relaxed, no-obligation chat so you can get to know me, ask all your questions and see if we're the right fit. If you leave feeling excited, comfortable and like we've known each other for years, we're probably onto a good thing.

What is involved with getting legally married in Australia?
While your ceremony is all about celebrating your love story, there are a few legal requirements that need to be taken care of under the Marriage Act 1961. Don't worry—that's where I come in! I'll guide you through every step and make sure everything is completed correctly.
To legally marry in Australia:
Both partners must be at least 18 years old.
Your Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged at least one month (and no more than 18 months) before your wedding.
You'll both sign a declaration confirming there is no legal reason you can't marry.
You'll need two witnesses aged 18 or over.
Your ceremony must include the required legal wording—but everything else is completely personalised to reflect you.
I'll take care of the paperwork, explain everything along the way, and make sure your marriage is legally registered, so you can focus on soaking up every moment of your day.
-
What should we look for in a Celebrant?
Choose someone who feels like the right fit for you.
Every celebrant has their own style, so it's important to find someone who understands your vision, makes you feel comfortable and genuinely gets who you are as a couple.
You'll be sharing one of the biggest moments of your lives with them, so trust your gut. When you find a celebrant you connect with, you'll feel confident knowing they're going to create a ceremony that feels authentic, reflects your story and sets the perfect tone for your day.
-
Ok, so we love you and have booked you… what next?
YAY! The fun begins.
We'll first meet to complete your Notice of Intended Marriage and chat about all things wedding.
From there, you'll have unlimited support throughout the planning process, so whether you have questions, ideas or just want to chat through your ceremony, I'm only a message away.
I'll send you a questionnaire (to complete individually) and my Your Story, Your Way toolkit so I can get to know you both and create a ceremony that feels completely you.
Closer to the big day, we'll catch up for a run-through (or an in-person rehearsal if you've chosen one) and complete the final legal paperwork, so you can head into your wedding feeling relaxed and confident.
Then it's wedding day! I'll be there to guide you through every moment, bring the heart, the hype and the happy tears, take care of all the legalities and, of course, snap a few behind-the-scenes happy snaps with a champers in hand!
